Corrections and Methodology

Verification Standard

DAMA-NV.EU distinguishes between a working association and a directly verified operator relationship.

A casino is marked Verified only when a current primary page controlled by the casino brand explicitly identifies the relevant operating company. Preferred sources include Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policies, responsible-gaming policies, About pages and persistent legal footers.

Third-party casino directories, affiliate sites and search snippets can be used to discover a possible relationship, but they are not sufficient on their own to promote a record to Verified status.

Source Priority

When sources conflict, the following order is generally preferred:

  1. Current regulator or licensing-register information for regulator-level claims;
  2. Current casino Terms and Conditions or equivalent legal documentation for brand-level operator claims;
  3. Current privacy, responsible-gaming or About pages controlled by the brand;
  4. Archived primary material for historical operator changes;
  5. Independent third-party sources for context only.

A regulator's licence-holder entry and a casino's own operator declaration are recorded as separate evidence layers. One should not automatically be treated as proof of the other.

Dates

The Last checked date in the main database is the date on which the cited primary source was reviewed for the operator relationship. It is not necessarily the publication date of the source document.

The homepage Last reviewed date is updated only after the operator database or its evidence has materially been rechecked.

Corrections

When a current primary source contradicts an existing DAMA-NV.EU entry, the current evidence takes priority. The affected record should be changed from Verified to Tracked, updated to the new operator, or otherwise corrected as appropriate.

Corrections should preserve the distinction between:

  • current operator;
  • historical operator;
  • regulator-level licence status;
  • brand-level licence wording;
  • payment or service entities that are not the casino operator.

The objective is not to preserve an old ranking claim or an old casino list. It is to keep the operator record aligned with the most recent evidence that can be directly checked.

Unresolved Records

A Tracked status is intentional. It means that DAMA-NV.EU does not currently have a sufficiently clear primary source recorded to classify the brand as directly verified.

An unresolved record should remain Tracked rather than being upgraded on the basis of repetition across third-party sites.

Independence

DAMA-NV.EU is an independent informational website. A Verified status is not an endorsement, quality rating, safety guarantee or recommendation to gamble. It describes only the operator relationship supported by the cited source at the time of review.
